Are you a Player or a GM? Well, it doesn’t matter! We’re looking for you! The Tales were True are looking for some additional play test groups with 5E players and GMs of all experience levels. We are particularly interested in school or library D&D clubs (we’re including fascinating historical tidbits and folkloric figures as well as actual historical figures).
This is a high fantasy/high magic campaign featuring expanded foraging and crafting options, new player possibilities, and creatures from folktales and fairy tales both well-known and obscure. The campaign can be played or run anywhere along the spectrum from murder hobo to altruistic folk hero (and we’re very interested to see which paths players take). This is your chance to influence the final campaign; we’ve already made some tweaks and adjustments using feedback from the play test groups already going. There are, however, limited spots for both players and GMs.
If you want to be a GM and run the campaign, we’ll provide any support you need (including some maps for VTTs; though it is essential that they are not shared outside your game as they are not final products at this point). As the entire campaign is not written yet (and things are still being revised), keep in mind that we’ll be sending you chapters at a time vs. an entire PDF and things are not yet “pretty”. This is ground floor play testing! Please join the Discord to ask for more details.
All we ask in return is that you give us feedback (we have a list of questions — don’t worry, they aren’t hard!) letting us know what you like and what you don’t. And, of course, we’ll credit you in the final product!
